BPC Concludes on Non-Approval of DBNPA for Product-Type 4

Tuesday, July 9, 2019

The Biocidal Products Committee (BPC) adopted four new opinions among which one regarding the non-approval of DBNPA in product-type 4. The active substance is known to have endocrine disrupting properties and as such cannot be approved for PT4 (food and feed area) defined in Annex V to the BPR as products “Used to impregnate materials which may enter into contact with food”.

The BPC also adopted three opinions supporting Union authorisation for:

-          Octanoic Acid, Octanoic Acid & Decanoic Acid in product type 4.

-          Permethrin & S-Methoprene in product type 18.

The Commission and the EU Member States will take the final decision on the Union authorisations and approval of active substances.
