ECHA Adopts a New Multi-annual Strategy Plan

ECHA announces that its new strategic plan for 2019-2023 has been adopted during the December Management Board meeting. The strategy is the result of an open and collaborative process involving ECHA’s partners and stakeholders and lays the foundation of ECHA’s new mission e.g. working “for the safe use of chemicals.” The agency also shared its new vision, which is “To be the centre of knowledge on the sustainable management of chemicals, serving a wide range of EU policies and global initiatives, for the benefit of citizens and the environment.”
Within the framework of the strategy outlined by ECHA, three priorities were identified for the time period:
1. Identification and risk management of substances of concern.
2. Safe and sustainable use of chemicals by industry.
3. Sustainable management of chemicals through the implementation of EU legislation
