ECHA February Newsletter
Monday, February 24, 2020
ECHA announces the publication of the February issue of its Newsletter. Among the addressed topics, the Newsletter focuses on the inconsistencies found in the classification and labelling of mixtures, the actions taken to speed up the review of biocides active substances and the upcoming launch of the SCIP database prototype.
The Newsletter also features a French study on potential health risks for babies due to the use of harmful chemicals in baby nappies and France’s intention to propose a restriction of PAHs, furans, dioxins, PCBs and formaldehyde in single-use nappies for infants and children. For the first time, the interview with Karin Fiore, Regulatory and Socio-Economic Projects Manager at ANSES (French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety) is available in a podcast format.
