HSE Pushes UK-Based Businesses to Share Opinion on ECHA’s Proposals

In its News Bulletin from February 4th, 2022, HSE reminded UK companies that the Great Britain Mandatory Classification and Labelling (GB MCL) process continues to consider information acquired from public consultations undertaken by international organisations such as the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

ECHA has recently announced a public consultation on the following proposal for harmonised classification and labelling (CLH):

– n-hexane (EC: 203-777-6; 110-54-3). Chemical registered under REACH

Businesses based in the United Kingdom with an interest in the proposals are strongly encouraged to share any relevant information. It should be submitted directly to ECHA using their commenting webform. Comments will be published on ECHA’s website.

If your company is impacted by the GB CLP Regulation, check whether you will be affected by the classification and labelling proposal and inform the HSE if you foresee any substantial consequences or benefits as soon as possible.

The deadline is March 18th, 2022.

Information on wider policy and impact considerations can be submitted to HSE at GBCLP.GBMCL@hse.gov.uk.
