End of August, the Commission confirmed there was no intention to further postpone the compliance date of
1 January 2021 for Poison Centre Notifications. A new postponement was largely requested by companies and industry stakeholders given the large number of mixtures which have to be notified and seen the delay of the adoption of the related delegated act due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Commission argued that ECHA developed and published the submission format as per Part C of Annex VIII as early as April 2019 and that a searchable database was made available in November 2019. The Commission also stated the COVID-19 pandemic incurred a delay of only two and half months.
This means there are now less than three months left to meet the compliance date for consumer use mixtures submissions!
