Call for Evidence on Eight Substances of Very High Concern

ECHA calls for comments on the addition of eight substances of very high concern to the REACH Authorisation List.

Here are the eight substances proposed for authorisation:

–        Ethylenediamine;

–        2-(4-tertbutylbenzyl) propi onaldehyde and its individual stereoisomers;

–        Lead;

–        Glutaral;

–        2-methyl-1-(4- methylthiophenyl )-2- morpholinopropa n-1-one;

–        2-benzyl-2- dimethylamino4′- morpholinobutyr ophenone;

–        Diisohexyl phthalate;

–        Orthoboric acid, sodium salt.

These substances are known for being toxic for reproduction and are considered a respiratory hazard.

Simultaneously, the European Commission has requested information on the potential socioeconomic repercussions of adding these chemicals to the Authorisation List.
This information will not be considered by ECHA.

The comments can be submitted until May 2nd, 2022.
