Integrated Regulatory Strategy Annual Report

The fifth annual report of ECHA’s Integrated Regulatory Strategy is now available. The report shows continuous progress in the identification of substances of concern.

The primary objectives of ECHA’s Integrated Regulatory Strategy are:

•  speeding up data generation as well as identification of groups of substances of concern and regulatory action;

  clarifying which registered substances are a high priority for regulatory risk management or data generation and which are currently a low priority for further regulatory action.

Since launching the grouping approach in 2019, ECHA has identified 1,400 substances that require regulatory action, including hundreds of substances that may require a harmonized classification.

In 2022 alone, the agency identified around 500 substances that may require further risk management actions.
