Publication of 19th and 20th ATPs to CLP

On July 11, 2023, the European Commission published ATPs 19 and 20 amending regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP). 

Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1434 (ATP 19) adds notes X, 11 and 12 to Part 1, section 1.1.3, of Annex VI of CLP. The notes aim to provide clearer guidelines for classifying substances and mixtures based on their reproductive toxicity properties.

Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/1435 (ATP 20) amends Part 3, Table 3 for the following Annex VI entries:
-boric acid
-diboron trioxide
-tetraboron disodium heptaoxide, hydrate
-disodium tetraborate, anhydrous
-orthoboric acid, sodium salt
-disodium tetraborate decahydrate
-disodium tetraborate pentahydrate
ℹ️ addition of reference to note 11 from ATP 19;
-2-Ethylhexanoic acid and its salts
ℹ️ addition of reference to note X and 12 from ATP 19.
